Exclusive photos: James Van Der Beek ties the knot in Kabbalah Center in Tel Aviv. Ashton and Demi’s rabbi officiates at ceremony. Katie Holmes stays home
As America’s eyes were clung to pictures of Chelsea Clinton’s wedding to Marc Medvinsky, actor James Van Der Beek, who rose to fame when he starred in the popular television show “Dawson’s Creek,” decided to go for a Jewish wedding all the way and married Kimberly Brook, who is carrying his child, on Sunday in Israel.
The couple arrived in Israel for the birthday celebrations of Rabbi Shraga Berg, founder of the Kabbalah Center in Jerusalem and famous teacher of Madonna and other celebrity fans of the red string bracelet.
The bride showed up to the event wearing a black dress, hiding her baby bump with a dress bag containing her wedding dress. Van Der Beek showed up decked out in white from head to toe.
The small ceremony was held at the Kabbalah Center in Tel Aviv and was officiated by Berg’s son, Rabbi Yehuda Berg, who also married Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher. The wedding was held in secret during the evening hours near Dizengoff Square. Close friends flown in on a private flight attended. Katie Holmes, James’ co-star on Dawson’s Creek, was not among them.
The newlyweds will honeymoon on a tour of holy sites around the country, visiting the graves of the righteous in Jerusalem and the Galilee.

American actor attends Kabbalah Center founder Rabbi Shraga Berg’s birthday party in Center for Progressive Judaism along with James Van Der Beek, fashion designer Donna Karen
American actor Ashton Kutcher was spotted far away from Hollywood on Saturday night partying in the birthday party of Kabbalah Center founder Rabbi Shraga Berg in Jerusalem.
Kutcher, 32, husband of actress Demi Moore, landed in Israel on Friday and headed directly to the capital’s David Citadel hotel. He was accompanied by Scout,19, daughter of his wife and her ex-husband Bruce Willis.
On Saturday the actor attended Rabbi Berg’s birthday party together with hundreds of Kabbalah enthusiasts in Beit Shmuel, the Center for Progressive Judaism. Actor James Van Der Beek, who recently got married in the Tel Aviv Kabbalah Center, and fashion designer Donna Karen were also in attendance. Pop diva Madonna was awaited until the very last minute but did not show up.
Providing the music for the event was Hassidic band Oif Simches.
When not dancing, Kutcher was mainly seen trying to avoid photographers with the help of his body guard.
The actor spent the rest of the weekend touring Jerusalem attractions such as the Tower of David, the Wailing Wall and Abu Ghosh. He is due to depart back to the US on Sunday.
