Israel’s beaches host the noisiest ball game in the world: Matkot. Two filmmakers from Tel Aviv set out to stop the annoyance, in this satirical short documentary about Israel’s infamous Chutzpah.

“Matkot – The End” became a viral hit in Israel’s Youtube, and the new surprising civil protest was widely covered in local media.

Every summer the city of Tel Aviv cools off with a big water fight: the Tel Aviv Water War. 2012 will be the eight year that this event has taken place, and each year it gets bigger and better with thousands of residents and visitors taking part in the unique event in Kikar Rabin in the center of town. In a weird way, the stability and consistency of the water war, has stood as an annual tradition amid an ever changing world, and ever changing region! The 2012 Tel Aviv Water War will be taking place on Friday July 6, 2012 at 3:15pm.

The Tel Aviv Water War is of course, free to enter. Be sure to bring your best beach clothes. More information can be found on the event Facebook page.

The Tel Aviv Water War is a totally unique Tel Aviv event! It probably couldn’t happen like it does here, anywhere else in the world!

Mamistvalov takes home two gold medals – one for the 50-meter freestyle and one for the 200-meter freestyle. Schwartz and Halevi win golds in the 50-meter butterfly and the 400-meter freestyle, respectively

With less than a month to go before the London Olympic Games, Israel’s paralympic swimmers were golden at the German Disabled Swimming Open, taking home four gold medals and one silver.

Yitzhak Mamistvalov took first place in the 200-meter freestyle and in the 50-meter freestyle. Inbal Ganful Schwartz placed first in the 50-meter butterfly, while Erel Halevi took first place in the 400-meter freestyle. Inbal Pizaro won the silver medal in the 100-meter freestyle.
