By ‘Canadian Ginger’ (AKA D’vora Charness)

The Taste of Israel culinary journey had its closing ceremony last night after a delicious weeklong tour of Israel. Six food bloggers from around the world were invited to take part in this once in a lifetime experience by 23 students at the Interdisciplinary Center (IDC) Herzliya, all part of the StandWithUs Fellowship program.

Bloggers experienced Israel like non other by traveling north to south eating and drinking all along the way. Jerusalem, the Dead Sea, Nazareth, Tel Aviv, Tiberius and the Sea of Galilee were just a few places in which the bloggers wined and dined in some of the most amazing venues within the cities visited.

Students from the IDC had been working for over 6 months to assure that this be a trip unlike any other. The trip was designed and executed solely by the students who were able to take part in every aspect of the trip and bond over food with bloggers who specialize in the field.

A lot of hummus was consumed this past week, but more importantly the bloggers left with a new perspective on Israel and realize the place the small country has in the culinary world.
