When you think of Israel, what comes to mind? Beaches? Bombs? Babes? For me, that’s what came to mind….. up until two weeks ago. Now all I can think about is the FOOD! From the falafels, to the cheeses, to the schnitzel, to the chocolates. I ate like King David surely had. As a foodie, I tend to scout out the best restaurants a foreign city has to offer me ahead of time. Although this time I decided to wing it and just go with the flow.

I started my Israeli food journey in Levinsky Market, part of the Neev Sha’anan neighborhood of Tel Aviv. Dan, one of my travel buddies hooked us up with Delicious Israel – Israel’s foremost boutique lifestyle tours company. Our foodie guide, Inbal (who founded Delicious Israel) took us on a 4 hour tour of this spice and Mediterranean delicacy filled market place. Our 4 hour escapade in the market consisted of 50% talk, 50% eating. My type of tour. We tasted vine leaves stuffed with lamb, burekas, rice pilafs, cheeses, olives, figs, and so much more.  I highly recommend taking this tour!
