WineBar

by Jono Kalles

My personal favorite is Par Derriere, cuz I love wine bars, but especially cuz the setting there is awesome.  You have to walk into this little ally, behind a red door, and you end up in this open air setting (that’s covered in the winter) with trees and lights; it’s a great date place but also a good place to hang out.  They also have very good tapas.  It’s at King George 4, 50 feet from Allenby.

I also like Bin281 (281 Dizengoff, where it meets Ben Yehuda).  The first floor is a wine store, and the second floor is a wine bar (FYI the third flood is an events room that can be rented out for wine tastings, scotch tasting etc.)

Jajo can be cool, in Neve Tzedek, but not with more than 2-3 people (I don’t think they can fit 20 people in there).

There’s a place I haven’t been to yet but that I’ve walked by and looks interesting called Wineberg, Ben Yehuda 106 just north of Gordon.

Another place to keep in mind is a little wine store on Dizengoff, just before Kikar Dizengoff (93 Dizengoff) called Aperitif Wine Shop.  The owner Daniel knows his wines and it’s the kind of place where you buy a bottle and drink it on the spot (he’s got wine glasses hanging just for the occasion).
