Ella Ran, a 21-year-old discharged soldier from Herzliya wins beauty pageant in Haifa ceremony.

Ella Ran, 21, of Herzliya was crowned Miss Israel 2011 on Tuesday. The Miss Junior Israel title was awarded to Kim Edri, Bar Marom was named Miss Congeniality, and the Miss Teen Israel titled was given to Kim Akafi.

Ran is a discharged Israel Defense Forces who works as a purchase clerk and is planning to begin her academic studies next year.The ceremony, which was held at Haifa’s Congress Center was hosted by model and presenter Hila Nachshon and actor Shlomi Koriat.

The judges included Miriam Nofech-Moses, editor-in-chief of Laisha women’s magazine, international model and actress Moran Atias, actress and model Yael Bar-Zohar, model and businessman Shay Kahana and journalist Dana Spector.

Singers Dudu Aharon, Roni Dalumi and Sarit Hadad performed during the event.

Miss Israel 2011 will receive keys to a brand new Škoda Fabia car and the first runner-up will get jewelry worth $10,000, courtesy of H. Stern.
