Israel is a world leader in water conservation and reforestation

• By developing innovative irrigation systems, Israeli farms have dramatically increased water efficiency
• The Ashkelon Reverse osmosis Desalination Plant is the largest desalination facility in the world.  It is able to produce water at $0.50 per cubic metre, cheaper than anywhere else in the world.
• Israel treats 92 percent of its wastewater and reuses 75 percent in agriculture – the highest rate in the world
• The Jewish National Fund has planted more than 240 million trees in Israel
• While most countries saw a decrease in the number of trees between the start of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st, Israel saw an increase

Israel is a world leader in alternative energy

• The Israeli company, Solel, runs a solar field in the Mojave Desert that reduces US dependence on oil by up to 2 million barrels per day
• Israel is in the process of installing electric car charging stations throughout many portions of the country
