Star of ‘Spider-Man,’ ‘The Cider House Rules’ visits Jewish state to attend a family function and to promote new smartphone app

Tobey Maguire, who starred in three Spider-Man movies and other hits such as “The Cider House Rules,” and “Seabiscuit,” arrived in Israel on Thursday, Ynet learned.

Maguire, 36, is visiting Israel as the personal guest of businessman Moshe Hogeg, and will attend a family affair.

Mixing business with pleasure, Maguire will also promote “mobli,” a smartphone application that is partially owned by Hogeg.

It is still unclear whether the visit, which will only be a week long, will include an official launch party.

Maguire will stay in a Jerusalem hotel and is scheduled to tour various heritage sites across Israel.
